Mitch Wismans is a Dutch professional triathlete from Doornenburg, Gelderland, in the Netherlands. At a young age, he transitioned from football to triathlon and quickly developed into one of the Netherlands’ most promising long-distance talents. With his strong combination of swimming, cycling, and running, he has delivered impressive performances in both national and international competitions within a short period of time.
In 2024, Wismans made his breakthrough by winning his age category at the Ironman Texas North American Championship and claiming a bronze medal at the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii. A year later, he took another major step forward by transitioning to the professional circuit.
One of his most remarkable performances came in 2025 at Ironman Copenhagen, where, at the age of 21, he recorded a finishing time of 7 hours, 59 minutes, and 29 seconds. With this result, he broke the prestigious eight-hour barrier for the full Ironman distance—a milestone achieved by only a limited number of athletes. In the same season, he also secured a tenth-place finish at Ironman Cozumel and won the Gendtse Kwart Triatlon in his home region.
With his ambitious mindset, continuous development, and impressive results, Mitch Wismans is widely regarded as one of the most promising names in international triathlon. His goal in the coming years is to continue developing and compete with the absolute world elite in long-distance triathlon.
